Who are  we?

 

Northern Quill is a proofreading, editing, professional writing and translation service. We are a tag team consisting of Andrew and Carey, and are based in the North East of England. Both of us love reading, writing and languages, but we both bring a different skill set to the party. Together we are able to combine our experience and offer you a professional, timely and refreshing service that will deliver your project to you at the highest standard possible.

 

 

Carey Mathieson​

She has successfully completed a First Class Honours degree in Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish), as well as her Post Graduate Certificate of Education. When she is not translating she is teaching high school French.

 

She has lived in Aix-en-Provence in the south of France, as well as Tarragona in Spain, so is fluent in both languages. Can also understand rudimentary Italian.

 

 

Andrew Thomas

 

Has successfully written a business plan for his own online retail business which he used to secure a business loan from the Royal British Legion, as well as to win an IT grant from (the now defunct) One North East. 

 

In 2012 he self published his first ebook 'Quit Smoking Forever' through Amazon KDP and Smashwords. He is now working on several other non-fiction ebooks, which will be self published over time. 

 

Was schooled in South Africa, so is capable of speaking conversational Afrikaans. Also knows a few of the basics in Zulu.
